1 in 3 Adults compare their Last Interview Process to Love at First Sight.

According to a new poll of over 1,000 adults conducted by Ipsos Public Affairs on behalf of Hire-Vue, nearly two-thirds (63%) of adults report having been through an interview process, while 37% say they have never done so (including 61% of those who are retired, and 45% of those without a college degree).

Among those who have participated in a interview process, one in three (31%) would say it was like love at first sight, while nearly the same proportion (30%) compare it to playing hard to get. One in five (20%) say it was hot at first, but then fizzled fast, with nearly as many (18%) saying it resembled a three-month affair.

Men and women differ little on their responses. One in three women (35%) would say their last interview process was like love at first sight, compared to three in ten men (28%); similarly, one in five men (22%) say it was hot at first, but then fizzled fast, compared to 18% of women. Their responses are virtually identical for each of the other two options, with 31% of men and 30% of women saying their last interview process resembled playing hard to get, while 19% of men and 18% of women compare it to a three-month affair.
