2004 Hispanic Heritage Awards @ Telemundo.

Saturday October 16th (7PM ET/PT), Telemundo proudly presents the 2004 Hispanic Heritage Awards Ceremony. The event, which took place at the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington, DC, is hosted by Telemundo stars Candela Ferro and José Angel Llamas.
This year’s event includes musical performances by Paulina Rubio, Victor Manuelle, Karina Pasian, Mariachi Las Campanas de America and Jimena. The special also includes exclusive interviews with the stars and honorees conducted by “Tiqui-tiqui King” Mauricio Zeilic (Cotorreando) and Al Rojo Vivo’s Vanessa Hauc.
This year’s honorees are: John Leguizamo (Arts Award); Narciso Rodríguez (Vision Award); Deportes Telemundo star Andrés Cantor (Sports Award), Sandra Benítez (Literature Award); Juan D. González (Leadership Award); Gloria G. Rodríguez, Ph. D (Education Award).
The Hispanic Heritage Awards honor the contributions of Hispanic-Americans to the U.S. community and those who serve as inspirations for all Americans. Over the past 18 years, the Hispanic Heritage Awards have evolved into a major national event, and today these prestigious awards are known throughout the world.
The Hispanic Heritage Awards Foundation is a non-profit organization that was established in 1987 to promote Hispanic excellence, provide a greater understanding of the contributions of Hispanic-Americans to the U.S., and recognize role models who inspire Hispanic youth.
