R. Paniagua Inc. has created a prized and nationally televised championship sporting event out of Dominos which will culminate in the 2007 Hennessey World Domino Open at the Las Vegas Hilton during the November 16th weekend.
“We will be hosting players in Las Vegas from all over the world that will come to compete in this highly touted Domino tournament,” said Ralph Paniagua, President of R. Paniagua Inc. and producer of the Hennessy World Domino Open.
“To promote the World Domino Open, we will be holding VIP regional tournaments and press receptions at some of the finest Latino club venues in the US.”
The 2007 Hennessy World Domino Open is presented in association with and sanctioned by the Mexican and USA Domino Federations and the North American Domino Association.
“In a continued effort to build community-based ties to our Latino consumers, Hennessy is sponsoring the 2007 World Domino Open,” said Yvette Baez-Goss, Brand Director of Hennessey Cognac. “Hennessy recognizes the deep roots that Domino has to Mexican, Caribbean and South and Central-American Latino males – it gives us an opportunity to build relationships with these consumers, while simultaneously providing an outlet for the enjoyment of an important pastime. Hennessy is proud to be involved in such an exciting and culturally relevant endeavour, Ms Goss went on to say.”
The regional elimination events will take place in four major US Hispanic markets including New York on October 24 at the Latin Quarter Night Club, Miami on October 25 at the Mystics Night Club, Los Angeles on October 26 at Club Tatou, and Chicago on October 27 at Transit. Winners of each of the regional preliminaries will receive a trip for two to the Las Vegas finals. Over 100 players and local celebrity personalities will be invited to the preliminary events in each market, leading up to the finals at the Las Vegas Hilton.
“We are pleased that that the sport of Dominoes has been recognized and given the prominence that it deserves and join other governing bodies in the exciting city of Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Hilton for this prestigious tournament,” said Ricardo Arias, President of the Mexican Domino Federation.
