2008 Copa Santander Libertadores returns to Fox Sports En Espanol.

Returning once again to Fox Sports en Espanol, live and exclusive Spanish-language coverage of the 2008 edition of the Copa Santander Libertadores kicks off today at 4:30 p.m. ET/1:30 p.m. PT with a first-round encounter between Argentina’s Club Arsenal and Venezuela’s Mineros de Guavana. The 138 matches over a five-month span will culminate in the two-leg final on June 26 and July 2.

Including renowned Mexican powers Club America, Chivas Guadalajara and Atlas, this year’s Copa Santander Libertadores – Latin America’s premier annual club soccer competition – features 38 clubs from Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Paraguay, Venezuela, Uruguay, Colombia, Chile, Peru, and Bolivia, battling for Latin America’s most prestigious club soccer championship. All matches will be telecast live in Spanish and exclusively on Fox Sports en Espanol.

Raul Orvananos will be the lead commentator for all matches involving the Mexican teams; additional commentators will be announced at a later date.

Round of 16 matches will take place from April 30 through May 14; quarterfinals May 21-28; and semifinals June 4-11.
