2011 Applications being accepted for the Lopez Negrete Hispanic Marketing Education Fund Scholarship

Lopez Negrete Communications, Inc. (LNC) invites students to apply for the company’s scholarship fund. Students who wish to apply for the Lopez Negrete Hispanic Marketing Education Fund scholarship have until March 1, 2011, to submit their application. “We have a responsibility to contribute to the leaders of tomorrow and consider the Lopez Negrete Hispanic Marketing Education Fund scholarship an investment in the future of our agency and of Hispanic marketing itself,” said Alex López Negrete, president, chief executive officer and chief creative officer of Lopez Negrete Communications. “By providing assistance with mounting tuition costs, we can alleviate some the college pressure to assure that our stars of tomorrow will be prepared to lead our industry.”
 
The American Advertising Federation-Houston’s charitable foundation, the Advertising Education Foundation of Houston manages the Lopez Negrete Hispanic Marketing Education Fund. This is the fourth year the scholarship will be awarded to a certified junior or senior student who has declared a major in a marketing-related field such as advertising, marketing, communications, radio/TV/film production, media studies or marketing research. The scholarship is open to Latino students, but the applicant must be bilingual and focused on, or with a specific interest in, Hispanic marketing and advertising.
 
Students can be enrolled in any accredited institution, but preference will be given to those attending classes full time at the University of Houston, University of St. Thomas, Emerson College, Texas State University or The Florida State University.
 
The Lopez Negrete Hispanic Marketing Education Fund was created in 2008 by Alex and Cathy López Negrete, founders of Lopez Negrete Communications, Inc.
