2015 Global Mobile Consumer Survey [REPORT]

Deloitte’s 2015 Global Mobile Consumer Survey is the biggest and most extensive to date, capturing surprising consumer behavior and thought-provoking trends from nearly 50,000 respondents, ages 18 to 74, across six continents and 31 countries. The survey uncovers the usage habits of connected consumers whose preferences are driving mobile solutions in today’s fast-changing marketplace.

Key US findings include:

    •    Consumer device obsession is deepening: Smartphone and tablet ownership rates are up nine percent and ten percent, respectively.
    •    Consumers are using their phones in every aspect of their daily lives: Everything from watching TV to simply crossing the road, mobile devices have introduced an unprecedented level of mobile involvement.
    •    2015 is the year of mPayments: mPayment technology increased nearly fourfold over 2014.
    •    The Internet of Things takes shape: Consumers are open to the next big thing, whether it’s home monitoring, health monitoring, or self-driving cars.
    •    Security and privacy, related but separate concerns: Security trumps privacy overall, and youngest and oldest segments have similar levels of concern.
