2022 Latin America Music Awards to air on Telemundo

The 7th edition of the “Latin American Music Awards” will take place Thursday, April 21 from the Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will be broadcast live on Telemundo starting at 7pm/6c with the red carpet pre-show followed at 8pm/7c by the three-hour awards show. The star-studded event will pay tribute to today’s most influential and iconic Latin artists as voted by music fans in the tradition of the “American Music Awards,” the world’s largest fan-voted award show. Nominees to the coveted event will be announced on Thursday, March 3, 2022.

“In the past few years, we have seen a huge rise in popularity for Latin music that has pushed it mainstream, so we are thrilled to take the Latin AMAs to Las Vegas for the first time and give our worldwide audience a first-rate production to showcase their favorite artists,” said Ronald Day, President, Entertainment and Content for Telemundo.

The “Latin AMAs” will celebrate Latin music’s finest and showcase electrifying musical performances. As opposed to last year, there will be an in-person audience following all necessary health and safety protocols. Last year’s edition of the “Latin AMAs” featured 20 live performances by Ana Bárbara, Carrie Underwood, Maluma, Prince Royce and Ricky Martin, among others, reaching a cumulative audience of 3.3M total viewers. Winners of the renowned ceremony included Bad Bunny, Karol G, Nicky Minaj, Christian Nodal, Prince Royce and Shakira. The show set a record with 42.4M engagements across digital, social and television platforms, and was the #1 most social program across all TV for the day.

The 2022 “Latin AMAs” will also broadcast simultaneously on Spanish entertainment cable network, Universo and throughout the Americas on Telemundo Internacional.
