Texas Talent Musicians Association (TTMA) producers of the Tejano Music Awards, proudly announced the 32nd Annual Tejano Music Awards to be held Saturday, August 18, 2012. The long-running and exciting awards show will be held at the beautiful Illusions Theater located inside the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Over 7,000 guests are expected to attend and will include performances by some of Tejano Music’s most popular and exciting crowd pleasing bands.
The Tejano Music Awards (TMA’s) have been a tradition in the state of Texas since 1980 and are held annually to recognize and honore Tejano music and artists of that music genre. The awards have a fan following from all over the United States that includes Texas, as well as California, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Washington, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Ohio, Idaho, Florida, Georgia and from as far as Mexico. The TMA’s carry great and cultural significance in that they represent strong cultural ties and a heritage that continues to bind many Hispanices across the United States – even after 32 years!
The event returns to the Alamodome after a 10 year absence from that venue. Previous years have seen attendance and support for the awards show grow and organizers state that it was time to return back to the Alamodome where previous large productions for the Tejano Music Awards were held and was the only venue large enough to sustain the show’s attendees. “TTMA is very proud to be part of the long history and tradition of honoring and recognizing Tejano music and artists,” stated Robert Arrellano, Chairman of the Board for TTMA. “Every year, we see more and more fans travel to San Antonio to attend the Awards. It’s exciting to see how support for this music genre has grown to where we have to host the annual Tejano Music Awards in a large venue, so we are back at the magnificent and spacious Alamodome.”
This year’s Tejano Music Awards are also proud to partner with corporate sponsors that include Hermes Music, KXTN 107.5 FM Univision Radio, BNet Radio, La Prensa of San Antonio, Budweiser, Telemundo KVDA 60 San Antonio, and Devine Design & Photography. “We are very excited and glad to be part of this year’s Tejano Music Awards,” stated Alberto Kreimerman, CEO of Hermes Music. “Hermes Music has always dedicated itself to promote and support music and the Tejano Music Awards represent one of the most popular styles of music by the Hispanic community. It is with great pride and honor that we support the Tejano Music Awards and would like to congratulate all the artists and nominees for their tremendous contributions to Tejano music.”
