98.9 MORE FM Launches New Format in San Diego.

Pioneering cutting-edge Spanish-language Radio Formats, MEC Network has announced a new format for 98.9 FM, San Diego. 98.9 MORE FM will launch “Spanish Rhythmic” on March 1, 2004.
The new sound will be a blend of the best Rock en Espanol and Spanish Contemporary, with today’s best Hip Hop and R&B.
Core artists will include, Eminem, Control Machete, Beyonce, Molotov, Jay-Z, El Gran Silencio and many others.
The presentation will be primarily in Spanish, with a large dose of “Spanglish”, a seamless blend of Spanish and English languages. The entirely new on-air line-up will anchored by San Diego natives, “The Local Locos”, DJ Ces & Shysti, with producer DJ Rags, in mornings. Former LA voice-over talent, Candy Vega, fills the midday slot, with SD radio veterans
Billy Blast and Kid Corona, covering the Afternoon Drive and Evening time periods.
