Accentmarketing creates PSA campaign for Humane Society of Greater Miami Adopt-A-Pet.

Accentmarketing unveiled a new Hispanic PSA campaign for the Humane Society of Greater Miami featuring TV spot “Alley” and print ad “Studio Shot”. The TV and Print PSAs will be distributed to local Hispanic media and a radio PSA will launch in September.

Both TV and print executions were inspired by the Humane Society of Greater Miami’s goal to educate the community about the importance of spaying and neutering pets. Pet owners often don’t realize the implications of allowing their pets to breed; the responsibility of finding homes for an entire litter can be overwhelming. The Accentmarketing team focused on creating a strong correlation between how sterilizing one’s pet can result in saving thousands of animals from ending up homeless on the street or in a shelter.

Collaborating with their time and generosity towards the production of this special campaign alongside the Accentmarketing team were D’Avant-Garde Media directors Pascui Rivas and Francisco Pugliese, Director of Photography Tom Marvel, voice over talent Guillermo Sauceda and digital retouching by Artistic Image.

In “Alley”, a close-up of a baby dressed in a kitten costume is seen alone; soft music creates a tender and touching setting for the spot. As the camera pans out, viewers notice that the baby represents an abandoned kitten, sitting by himself in a dirty and empty alley, lost and bewildered. The spot shows viewers that just like babies, pets are part of their family, and it is every pet owner’s responsibility to spay and neuter pets to help reduce the animal overpopulation problem in Miami-Dade County.

“In this day and age where we see such unjust animal cruelty in our community, the Accentmarketing team felt passionate about instilling responsibility among current and future pet owners to spay and neuter their pets,” said Ana Maria Montero, Account Group Director, Accentmarketing. “We are proud to be able to support the Humane Society of Greater Miami’s mission and contribute towards inspiring pet owners in our community to be more responsible for their pets.”

The print execution “Studio Shot” is a print interpretation of the “Alley” TV spot. At first glance, the image of the baby wearing the kitten costume looks like a professional baby studio portrait popular among parents. As one reads the headline “Tu mascota es como un hijo. Sus crías también deberían serlo.” (Your pet is like your child. Their offspring should be as well.), one discovers the baby represents one of thousands of abandoned pets in the streets as a result of unsterilized pets, all of which are likely to die.

The team from Accentmarketing that led the campaign were: Luis Puerta, Creative Director and Copywriter; Junior Jimenez, Sr. Art Director; Rudy Leschhorn, Executive Producer; Ana Maria Montero, Account Group Director.
