Acento taps Llopis as VP/Executive Creative Director

LA-based Acento has added advertising veteran and digital innovator, Vicent Llopis, to its cross-cultural team. In his role as VP/Executive Creative Director, Llopis brings a proven record of fostering innovative thinking, particularly in the digital space with some of the top agencies in the business.

“Vicent is a unique breed of executive creative director: he’s globally minded, digital and social savvy, and he gets business. He’s got a knack for taking the road less traveled, from building his Hispanic blogger reputation stateside to working internationally – all positions that add a richly diverse texture to his creative portfolio and value for our clients,” says Donnie Broxson, chief executive officer at Acento. “We celebrate provocative ideas delivered through a cross-cultural lens, so Vicent’s background is a perfect fit. We’re thrilled to have him join our ranks.”

Llopis comes to Acento from Nairobi, where he worked with African agency Oxygène. Prior to this, Llopis also worked with U.S. agencies Zubi, Alma, and Lopez Negrete among others. Llopis’ expertise is grounded in both digital and traditional creative, from TV, radio, and print to website development, digital display, social, and mobile. Additionally, he is a blogger and known as a pioneer in Hispanic digital marketing, having embraced social early on. His work has been recognized in most major advertising festivals, including Clio, Epica, FIAP, Cannes, NYF, and many others.

“During this time of dramatic change in how audiences consume information and make decisions about what matters to them and the brands they support, Acento’s cross-cultural approach uniquely positions it to help clients navigate this landscape. I’m excited to help creatively augment this work of making brands relevant in today’s culture,” said Llopis about joining the agency.

His diverse portfolio includes work for clients such as McDonald’s, State Farm, Clorox, Samsung, Chrysler, Walmart, Verizon and others. In his most recent position at Oxygène, he led the creative team, developing campaigns in several East African markets, collaborating with clients including Huawei, East African Breweries, and Kenya Commercial Bank.
