Acento Unveils “The Gift of Life” – A Holiday Initiative to Combat the Opioid Overdose

This holiday season, cross-cultural advertising agency Acento is embracing the spirit of giving with a life-saving ornament. Recognizing the human and social vulnerability highlighted this year by the Fentanyl crisis, Acento is taking a unique approach to holiday gifting with The Gift of Life – an initiative to create awareness and action for accidental opioid overdoses.

In 2023, more than 110,000 people have died from accidental opioid overdoses in the US alone. Longtime advocate for health and wellness in diverse communities, Acento is taking their commitment one step further by distributing “The Gift of Life” holiday ornaments. Each crystalline ornament includes two Naloxone nasal sprays – a life-saving drug capable of reversing the effects of an opioid overdose.

Designed for both practical use and to inspire action, one spray is intended for the recipient to carry, and the other to gift, symbolizing the shared responsibility in this fight. Enclosed in a custom box adorned with unique snowflake designs made from applicator silhouettes, these ornaments are a bold statement of hope and solidarity. A QR code on the box leads recipients to detailed information on the opioid epidemic, usage instructions for Naloxone, and opportunities to engage in this crucial cause.

The initiative was championed by creative leaders Francisco Stohr and Salomon Resler. Salomon expressed, “We were inspired to take action by the millions of families impacted by the Opioid epidemic. Our aim is to spread the word about the power each of us holds to save a life.” Acento CEO, Donnie Broxson added, “We are fortunate to partner with clients who are changing the world, a commitment to cultural impact we share as an organization and individuals. This initiative sprang organically from the team – each believes that impacting even one life, is well worth the effort.”

The card reads, “This holiday season, Acento’s wish is for the gift of life to be with everyone. Together, we can make 2024 a year of life and hope. For more information visit Acento.com/thegiftoflife.”
