Chicago-based Lápiz, recently received an “O’Toole Multicultural Award” from the American Association of Advertising Agencies (4A’s), which signifies Agency of the Year status and is the highest honor the association bestows upon agencies.

The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. has selected Marca Hispanic as agency of record for its Hispanic market advertising. Marca will develop a fully integrated marketing campaign that will include TV, radio, outdoor, print, collateral and event marketing across the PNC markets on the East coast. Marca is also AOR for media planning and buying for the Hispanic markets.

Nextel Expands Hispanic Initiative.

Nextel Communications Inc. announced the expansion of its concentrated marketing and sales initiative to introduce its differentiated wireless voice and data services to the Hispanic communities in Los Angeles and Miami. The company also is launching a new Spanish-language advertising campaign in those markets, as well as in Chicago and San Diego. Nextel will expand this initiative to other U.S. cities by the end of the year.

DGWB’S Hispanic division, Adelante, has been named the official Agency of Record for all KFC Hispanic advertising.

Conoco Phillips has an Acento.

Conoco Phillips has selected Los Angeles-based Acento to handle the launch of the company’s gasoline brands, Phillips 66, Conoco, and 76, into the Hispanic market.
