Localized marketing is becoming a critical area of strategic focus and competitive advantage for brands, reports the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Council. As the holiday shopping season begins, U.S. retailers will face significant barriers to simply raising prices in response to rising food and fuel costs, according to an Accenture survey that polled nearly 1,000 people across the country on their shopping plans and their use of daily deal sites.
TV is still the Top Media Choice for Advertisers.
A survey by the ANA (Association of National Advertisers) shows that nearly half of marketers (47 percent) increased television advertising budgets since 2009. Thirty percent of respondents said that budgets remained the same, while 23 percent noted their budgets decreased.
Cross-Platform Hotspots: Top U.S. Cities for TV, Web and Mobile
From bed to the bus, from Portland to Pittsburgh, consumers are embracing all the various video platforms available to them. According to the Nielsen Cross-Platform Report for Q2 2011, roughly half (48%) of Americans now watch video online, compared to 10 percent for mobile and 97 percent for traditional TV. Even with already near-universal usage levels, traditional TV viewing saw an increase of 2 hours 43 minutes per month—with New Orleans taking the lead as the city that watches the most primetime TV.
