The Women’s Automotive Association International (WAAI) will honor Tere Zubizarreta, President and CEO of Zubi Advertising, one of the largest independent Hispanic advertising agencies in the U.S., with its “Spirit of Leadership” award at its annual luncheon on February 11th in Orlando, FL. Mrs. Zubizarreta was chosen for the esteemed award for her significant accomplishments in the automotive advertising industry and her innumerous contributions to the Hispanic community.

1 in 4 Gays Gays More Likely to Consider Shopping at Stores that are Good Corporate Citizens.

Gay and lesbian adults were more likely than heterosexual adults to say that more than last year, they would consider shopping for holiday gifts based on a store’s reputation as a good corporate citizen, according to a nationwide online survey of U.S. adults conducted prior to the holidays in December 2005.

Adults Do Not Believe Abstinence Programs are Effective in Preventing or Reducing HIV/AIDS.

Most programs intended to prevent or reduce HIV/AIDS have focused on “safe sex” and the use of condoms, both in this country and abroad. The use of condoms and other contraceptives have also been central to many campaigns to reduce unwanted pregnancies, particularly among teenage girls. However, some conservatives and religious critics of these programs are concerned that promoting condom use encourages promiscuity. This has apparently led to an increase in programs designed to promote abstinence from sex before marriage as a safer and more moral way to prevent HIV/AIDS and unwanted pregnancies. The question is, do these programs work?

Workers with Coffee More Productive.

Drinking hot beverages at work can help workers be more productive according to a new survey released by the National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA). The research indicates 79 percent of employed U.S. adults with access to office hot beverage service at work report that they are more productive and 63 percent view coffee as a good way for people to get some energy, according to NAMA VP of Membership Services and Coffee Service Dean Gilland.
