The breakthrough results of the first phase of a study that indicates that companies seriously investing in Latino markets have a significant edge in accelerating shareholder value creation, according to the Santiago Solutions Group (SSG) study “Does a Well-Resourced Hispanic Corporate Strategy Translate into Shareholder Value Creation?” The study found that the companies that allocate the highest percentage of advertising resources to Hispanic marketing produce an average return on equity that is four times higher than the followers.

Nielsen media Research last week informed clients it would begin utilizing an electronic data collection system for conducting in-person interviews with prospective Hispanic households in its national and local samples beginning in April.
Consumer Confidence Index Rises Again.
The Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index, which had increased in December, improved further in January. The Index now stands at 106.3 (1985=100), up from 103.8 in December. The Present Situation Index rose to 128.4 from 120.7. The Expectations Index declined to 91.5 from 92.6 last month.
