Morán, announced the comeback of the smash hit, DC-7, The Roberto Clemente Story. This powerful musical, written and directed by Luis Caballero, will now take place at the legendary Off – Broadway Theatre – The Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre beginning February 14th 2012.

Families see Digital Devices aid connection.

The modern version of the family hearth, the TV, has been replaced by the PC and the tablet. A Microsoft “Family Technology Survey,” which asked parents which technology devices they used most to connect with immediate family members, found that 43% said a computer or tablet drew family members together. Only 21% of respondents said they gather around the TV for quality family time.

W.K. Kellogg Foundation (WKKF) released a new report, “Cultures of Giving: Energizing and Expanding Philanthropy by and for Communities of Color” with support from Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors. This new report shows how the face of philanthropy is changing rapidly to become as ethnically, culturally and socioeconomically diverse as our country’s population, with some of the most significant growth stemming from identity-based philanthropy—a growing movement to spark philanthropic giving from a community on behalf of a community, where “community” is defined by race, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation.

American optimism prevails.

Despite continuing high unemployment and a persistently challenging economy, a majority of Americans say they are optimistic about 2012 both in terms of the country as a whole (62%) as well as for themselves and their families (78%), the latest AP-GfK Poll reveals, a national survey conducted December 8-12.

2012 Brand Advertising Outlook and Best Practice Benchmarks.

How do you effectively leverage the online medium to build your brand? There are a lot of opinions floating around, but what really works? In December of 2011, Vizu partnered with Digiday to assess the potential for the medium in 2012 and identify best practices for getting the most out of online brand advertising. Our survey of over 450 brands, agencies, and publishers found that there is significant opportunity for the growth of online brand advertising in 2012, but the outlook could be improved if the industry works together to clean up the “metrics morass” in the online medium. U.S. Foreign-Born Population: How Much Change from 2009 to 2010?

According to the Census Bureau’s American Community Survey (ACS), the U.S. population in 2010 included 39.9 million foreign-born residents. This estimate, the latest available for the foreign-born population, is 1.5 million, or 4%, higher than the survey’s 38.5 million estimate in 2009.1 A variety of additional data, however, suggest that both the absolute increase and the percentage increase in the foreign-born population were substantially smaller. An analysis by the Pew Hispanic Center, a project of the Pew Research Center, concludes that the growth in the foreign-born population from 2009 to 2010 is a markedly lower 616,000, or 1.6%.
