Aguirre and Diaz new co-anchors at Telemundo Arizona

Telemundo Phoenix announced that Rebeka Diaz and Daniel Aguirre have been named co-anchors for Noticiero Telemundo Arizona on weekdays at 4:30 PM, 5 PM and 10 PM, which also airs live on Telemundo Tucson / KHRR. Award-winning journalist Ruben Pereida will serve as the new anchor for Noticiero Telemundo Arizona on weekends at 4:30 PM and 10 PM.
Diaz and Aguirre will join meteorologist Henry Golac, sports anchor Diego Santiago and an enterprising team of reporters to deliver breaking news and up-to-the-minute information about issues affecting the Hispanic communities in Phoenix and Tucson. In addition to his weekend anchor role, Pereida will cover and report breaking news stories for the weekday newscasts.

Diaz joins Telemundo Phoenix from Efekto Noticias in Mexico City, where she worked as a News Anchor from 2009 to 2013. Before this, Diaz worked at CNN’s Mexico City Bureau as a Writer, Assistant Producer and Field Producer from 2008 to 2009. Diaz began her career as a Communications Specialist for Centro de Informacion de las Naciones Unidas in Mexico City in 2006. She received a bachelor’s of science degree in Journalism from the Universidad Anahuac Mexico Norte in Mexico City.
Aguirre, an experienced journalist with more than 10 years in the news business, joined Telemundo Phoenix in June 2014 after working as the lead anchor for Milenio Noticias in Monterrey, Mexico.
Pereida, who joined Telemundo Phoenix in February 2013, is a passionate story-teller who is committed to keeping viewers informed about the news that matters to them the most.
