Al Gore to be keynote PODER-NAA Green Forum.

Former Vice President Al Gore will deliver the keynote address at the PODER-New America Alliance Green Forum Friday, April 20, 2007, PODER magazine. Gore will speak during the fourth edition of the annual gathering of hemispheric business, academic, political and cultural leaders.

The focus of this year’s forum is the environment. The day-long event, entitled A New Beginning for a Sustainable Future, will feature experts from the fields of science and economics along with government representatives, environmental advocates, business and civic leaders. The invitation-only forum will be held at Miami City Hall.

Confirmed participants and speakers include Juan Manuel Santos, Colombia’s Minister of Defense; Manuel Diaz, Mayor of Miami; Emilio Azcarraga Jean, chairman of Grupo Televisa; Janet Murguia, president of NCLR; Gilbert Grosvenor, chairman of the National Geographic Society; Bill White, mayor of Houston; Brian O’Neill, chairman for Latin America, J.P. Morgan; Vernon Jordan, senior managing partner of Lazard LLC; Carolyn Curiel, New York Times editorial board; Albert Fishlow, Columbia University; Arturo Valenzuela, Georgetown University; Eduardo Padron, Miami-Dade College; and Rossana Rosado, publisher, El Diario/La Prensa.

The forum’s partners are the City of Miami, the National Geographic Society, Georgetown University, Columbia University, Miami-Dade College, Natural Resources Defense Council, Environmental Defense and the Inter American Development Bank.
