al Punto Advertising Is Recognized With Life Bridge Award.

OneLegacy, Southern California’s transplant donor network, presented al Punto Advertising with the Life Bridge Award in recognition of its invaluable contribution to promoting and increasing organ and tissue donation in the Hispanic community. al Punto Advertising has been working with OneLegacy for 10 years in the development of Spanish-language educational materials and most recently producing an award-winning television campaign. During this time, organ donation consent among Hispanics in the Los Angeles area has increased by an impressive 43%.

“At OneLegacy we’re bridging lives of Americans desperately needing transplants and those willing to give the gift of life. In the past, our challenge in the Hispanic community has been to obtain a commitment from individuals and family members to consider donating organs or tissue”, said Gloria García-Bohrer, Director of Public Relations and Education for OneLegacy. “The focus of our Spanish-language educational campaign has been to provide information that will result in an increase of organ and tissue donation in the Hispanic community. The results of our efforts so far have been outstanding. According to our study, 59% of the Hispanic population in OneLegacy’s Southern California service area have consented to the donation of their loved one’s organs or tissue at the time of death”, added Ms. García-Bohrer.

“Working with OneLegacy over the past decade has been an extremely rewarding experience. As an advertising agency, it is one thing to sell food, beverage and entertainment to Latinos; but it is totally another thing to know that our work is helping to save hundreds of lives every year. Together with OneLegacy, we are committed to continuing to grow the donation rate among Southern California’s vitally important Hispanic population”, stated Peggy Goff, President & Chief Executive Officer of al Punto Advertising.

OneLegacy is dedicated to achieving the donation of life-saving and life-enhancing organs and tissues for those in need of transplants and to providing a sense of purpose and comfort to those families who give. OneLegacy, a transplant donor network serving seven counties in Southern California, is one of 59 non-profit, federally designated organizations bridging potential organ donors with transplant recipients. Working together with the 14 transplant centers and 225 donor hospitals of Southern California, OneLegacy is accountable for the recovery, preservation, and transportation of organs for transplantation.
