Albertsons & Coca-Cola Partner To Celebrate Black History Month.

Albertsons and the Coca-Cola Company announced that they will join in a celebration of the rich heritage of the African-American community by honoring the achievements and contributions of African-American entrepreneurs throughout February, Black History Month.

The honored entrepreneurs are African-Americans who manufacture or distribute products sold in Albertsons stores. Albertsons will donate a portion of the proceeds from sales of African-American manufactured or distributed products (up to $10,000) to organizations that support African-American history and education.

“The achievements and leadership provided by African-American entrepreneurs help build a strong foundation for America’s future,” said Larry Wahlstrom, President of Albertsons Florida Division. “Albertsons applauds the outstanding contributions these entrepreneurs are making to our society. As a result, we are showing our support for the entire African-American community by encouraging the growth of these entrepreneurs and by donating a share of the profits from sales of their products to distinguished organizations, such as schools that are helping to educate us about African-American history.” Organizations benefiting from this year’s program will be several school districts in Florida that provide Black History education.

“At Coca-Cola we believe in investing in communities where we operate,” said Lowry Kline, chief executive officer, Coca-Cola Enterprises. “The Black History Month program is a program that not only supports a worthwhile cause, but celebrates the achievements of African-American entrepreneurs and promotes support among the African-American community. We are pleased to partner with Albertsons in celebration of Black History Month.”
