Alfredo Richard of NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, a PRWeek Hall of Fame honoree!

Over more than two decades of expertise in growth media markets, Alfredo Richard has managed communications teams in the U.S., Latin America and Spain.

His experience extends across corporate, trade and multicultural consumer comms, including media relations, CSR and DE&I, digital, internal, government relations and crisis management.

As EVP of corporate communications, Richard has overall responsibility for internal and external comms for Telemundo Enterprises, NBCUniversal’s portfolio of Spanish-language properties. He oversees a team of about 25 comms professionals and external PR agencies in Miami, Los Angeles and New York City.

He is responsible for all corporate, internal and crisis comms, as well as publicity efforts for Telemundo’s national broadcast network, digital platforms, international division and cable network Universo. A member of Telemundo’s senior management team, Richard manages comms programs to strategically position the company and its assets among key stakeholders.

He also oversees comms efforts for the network’s sports content, including all FIFA World Cups, as well as its network news division.

Since joining Telemundo in late 2004, Richard has been instrumental in developing the network’s prosocial initiatives such as El Poder de Saber (The Power of Knowledge), recently rebranded El Poder en Ti (The Power in You); voter registration campaign Vota por tu Futuro (Vote for your Future); and the 2010 and 2020 Census awareness campaign Hágase Contar (Be Counted).

Prior to NBC, as VP of corporate communications and public responsibility at MTV Networks, Richard oversaw the network’s efforts to support minorities and disadvantaged groups. Before that, he led the development and execution of MTV Latin America’s traveling Youth Forums and the network’s prosocial campaign, Voces.
