Coconut Grove based Alma DDB won the first ever TV Billboard Latino Marketing Award for the “House Party” music campaign produced last year on behalf of McDonald’s.
Each spot featured the song of an emerging Latin music band (Bomba Stereo, Systema Solar and El Tambor de la Tribu) to position McDonald’s as contemporary and in-tune with the Hispanic young adults community. The spots generated buzz online and ultimately reinforced the bond with this target group and the McDonald’s brand. Information about the bands was available on the meencanta.com website. On-line viewers had a chance to listen to their songs and share it with their friends.
Alma DDB was shortlisted with Universal Music Group, with Juanes for Windows Phone/AT&T; Universal Music Latino with Chino y Nacho and Niña Bonita Go Phone, and Artear-“Quiero Música en Mi Idioma”.
