Announcing the 2007 Hispanic Account Planning ‘Excelencia’ Awards.

Amigos planners:

For the second year in a row HispanicAd.com and the Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies (AHAA) bring us The HispanicAd.com Account Planning Excelencia Awards.

Last year’s winners and honorable mentions including “Los Oros” for: Clorox, Bush Beans and Direct TV were a great example of how far planning in Latino advertising has come in a few years. The bar was raised. We hope this year’s HAPE will raise it even further.

The 2006 HAPEs accepted work from the two previous years. The 2007 awards will concentrate on work completed during the past 12 months (July 2006 – June 2007). This makes this year’s awards so much more exciting and challenging. But the truth is that the HAPEs are much more than a competition. This is a celebration of the continued growth of planning in our industry.

The awards program will take place at the Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies conference on Thursday November 1, 2007 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in New York City.

This year’s jury will adhere to high standards set by last year’s panel by following the same format. The 2007 panel of judges groups seasoned and awarded planners and creative and account executives from both Latino and general market agencies. It includes 2006 HAPE winner Rocio Fernandez who is now VP Director of Planning at Dieste Harmel and Partners; Matt Herrmann Director of Planning at Goodby Silverstein and Partners, San Francisco; Nat Puccio, Chief Strategic Officer at Grey; Antonio Lopez, Chief Creative Officer at Conill Advertising; and Gonzalo Perez, Director of Planning at MTV Tr3s.

We invite you to select your best work, write your story and share it with us. Your participation will once again demonstrate the high caliber planning that is steadily improving the quality of work we produce for clients. Finally, your entries will help make the planning discipline even stronger and more relevant.

Team up with your creative partner and account managers, tell us your story in all its greatness, attach your work and send it in. Join in the celebration. More information forthcoming.
