America Online Latin America has expanded its entertainment offerings and is providing its members in Latin America with exclusive content from some of the region’s most popular television programs and musical artists. As part of this expansion, AOL Latin America is also providing content related to the hottest new movie releases.
In Brazil, AOL Brazil and Sistema Brasileiro de Televisao (SBT), one of Brazil’s leading television networks, have entered into agreements to make content from popular SBT reality shows Casa dos Artistas 3, Popstars, and Ilha da Seducao available exclusively on AOL Brazil. Members can access the latest news, show highlights, and information on cast members in dedicated interactive areas for each show. The Casa dos Artistas 3 area will also feature live feeds from cameras taping the reality series and on-demand video of past episodes. AOL members will also be able to participate in online chats with the stars and special promotions.
AOL Brazil has also become the main sponsor of the “Kaya N’Gan Daya” World Tour with Gilberto Gil, an internationally recognized musical talent and one of Brazil’s most popular performers, which kicked off this past week in Rio de Janeiro and will run through the middle of 2003 with stops throughout Brazil and other countries in Latin America, Europe, and the U.S. As part of the sponsorship, AOL Brazil is providing its members with online access to Gilberto Gil’s latest music releases, as well as access to “behind-the-scenes” content and footage from the tour. AOL members will also be able to participate in online chats with Gilberto Gil from the road and can win concert tickets and CDs through a variety of online promotions.
Additionally, AOL Latin America will be offering new games and interactive content in connection with the upcoming release of Warner Bros. Pictures’ Scooby Doo movie in Latin America. On the Children’s Channels in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, and Puerto Rico, members will be able to access movie trailers and cartoon clips, photos, information on the cast and movie, Webcards and screensavers, among other things.
