Atria Books acquires new book from Maria Celeste Arrarás.

Atria Books has acquired world rights for a book with Telemundo/NBC television personality, Maria Celeste Arrarás. The book will focus on parenting, sharing Maria Celeste Arrarás own life lessons, spirituality, and wisdom garnered from her experience raising three children. The book will be published in English and in Spanish in May 2009. Judith Curr, Executive Vice President and Publisher of Atria made the announcement of the acquisition; Johanna Castillo, Senior Editor at Atria Books will serve as editor. Agent Raul Mateu at the William Morris Agency represented the author.

Maria Celeste Arrarás said, “This is a book that I’ve been writing all my life—a book that I wish someone would had written for me. I’m glad my children will have this book to guide them and keep them focused in the turbulent sea of life.”

Currently host and managing editor of the top-rated Hispanic news magazine show, “Al Rojo Vivo con Maria Celeste”, which airs nationwide in the U.S. and in 15 Latin American countries, Maria Celeste Arrarás is also a guest co-host of NBC’s “The Today Show” and a contributor for “Dateline/NBC”. Maria Celeste Arrarás was named one of the most influential Hispanics in 2007 by People en Espanol and Newsweek magazine selected her as one of the “20 Most Powerful Women” of the next generation of leaders in 2006. In 2005, she was awarded a National Emmy for her career achievements.
