Avenida América Launches ‘Páginas Amarillas de Austin’.

Avenida América, Inc. announced that they had launched “Páginas Amarillas de Austin,” a Spanish-language Yellow Pages for Austin’s growing Spanish speaking Hispanic community.

The Company plans to distribute 50,000 copies of the directory throughout the metro Austin area counties including Bastrop, Williamson, Travis, Caldwell and Hays counties in early 2003. The publication includes business listings as well as community information relevant to Hispanics.

“This marks the beginning of the second phase of our business strategy,” said Sebastian Puente, executive vice president of Avenida America. “We selected Austin as our first market due to the burgeoning Spanish speaking Hispanic community that clearly needed a resource to connect them with companies that want to do business with them, particularly in their language.”

“Response from both Hispanic-owned businesses and other businesses targeting the Hispanic community in the Austin area has been tremendous,” said Puente. “In fact, the majority of our customers tell us that as much as 90% of their business comes from Spanish speaking consumers.”

“In addition to the printed directory, our customers also get the benefit of our Spanish language e-commerce directory, MiAvenida.com,” he added. “The combination of our print and online offerings provides our customers with an unsurpassed value that is not available elsewhere.”
