December 9, 2007
Azteca América announced the return to U.S. TV screens of pop sensation Yahir in the new novela, Bellezas Indomables (Untamable Beauties), premiering Monday, January 14th at 10 PM/9 C.
Produced by Martín Luna, Bellezas Indomables features an incredible cast, including Claudia Álvarez, Betty Monroe, Tomás Goros, Cynthia Vázquez, Natalia Farias, Carlos Torres, Alberto Casanova and Mayra Rojas.
Bellezas Indomables is the story of three sisters: María Fernanda (Álvarez), María Angeles (Vázquez) and María Soledad (Farias), who are beautiful, vivacious, rich and frivolous. After an unfortunate turn of events, they lose everything and are left penniless. Stripped of wealth and title, each sister must discover her own identity, the courage to survive and the will to find true love.
Manuel (Yahir) is the son of the girls’ nanny. Reunited with María Fernanda after many years, their once-childhood crush blossoms into much more. Adding to the drama, María Fernanda is also being hotly pursued by Gregorio (Goros), her father’s former business partner. Tensions rise as the sisters come closer to realizing that they have been victims of a greedy, treacherous plot devised by the one man they trusted, Gregorio.
“Claudia Álvarez and I constantly find ourselves in difficult situations, the pawns of a wicked plan by a hidden foe; together, we suffer for being in love,” commented Yahir. “I feel confident that Bellezas Indomables will be a favorite among Hispanic audiences across the U.S.”
Yahir is a graduate of one of the most successful musical reality shows in Latin America: La Academia. Likewise, he has been recognized by his various gold and platinum-selling records: “Yahir” (2003), “Otra historia de amor,” (2004), “No te apartes de mí, a tribute to Roberto Carlos” (2005), “Con el alma entre las manos” (2006) and his more recent release “Recuerdos” (2007) including the Bellezas Indomables’ theme song, “Márcame la piel”(Mark My Skin). Yahir also starred on Enamórate in 2003 and Soñarás in 2004-2005, two other TV Azteca-produced novelas and broadcast on Azteca América.
