October 20, 2016
Azteca America will launch RABIA, a drama series, on Tuesday, November 1 at 9:00 p.m. EST.
RABIA, which combines thriller, action and mystery genres, tells the story of a group of terminally ill people desperate to stay alive. After an outbreak of rabies, chaos is sweeping the country and causing mass panic. To avoid the spread of infection, the government quarantines the sick to detention centers, but a group manages to escape and hide in an abandoned shelter. Filmed on location in Spain, RABIA tells the riveting story of what happens to people when faced with an extreme situation beyond their control. The series stars Adriana Ozores, Paco Tous, Malena Alterio, Patricia Vico, Carles Francino, and Concha Cuetos.
“As the thriller genre continues to fascinate American TV viewers, we’re thrilled to bring RABIA to a Spanish-speaking audience,” said Margarita Black Vice President of Programming for Azteca America. “RABIA, with its haunting storyline, promises to keep Azteca America audiences on the edges of their seats.”
RABIA will air its first two episodes on Tuesday, November 1 at 9 p.m. ET in a two hour special and Wednesday, November 2 at its regular scheduled time 10 p.m. ET. In its second week, the show will air Monday through Wednesday, a schedule that will continue through the run of the show. RABIA is produced by Mediaset España in collaboration with Isla Audiovisual.
