After parent company Interep filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy and required to sell off assets, many of the radio assets were purchased by Katz Communications and other players.
This left the radio representation arm for Spanish Broadcasting System stations still up for grabs. Katz Communications would like to rep them, but other are also interested. Conclusion pending, with a potential alliance with another rep firm currently handling Spanish-language radio stations.
On the other hand, Hispanic Independent Television Sales LLC and Azteca America Spot Sales under the leadership of Tom Marsillo will continue operating. Once the bankruptcy court gives approval, a subsidiary of Cross-MediaWorks will acquire the TV rep firms.
