Azteca America Spot TV Sales Team Hits the Ground Running.

Interep’s first television rep firm, Azteca America Spot TV Sales, has announced the hiring of four executives with the title Vice President/Director of Sales. The four are Brian McCullough (New York), Mary Vila-Sanchez (Miami), Alex Varel (Dallas) and Tyler Verdery (Los Angeles). The executives are among 14 people hired in 8 national sales offices. They are part of the build-out of a national sales team for Azteca affiliates.

Tom Marsillo, Senior Vice President/General Sales Manager, said, “We have assembled an all-star team of Hispanic media professionals who are service- and results-oriented. Our team was recruited from throughout the industry and were attracted to Azteca because we are a start-up with limitless potential.”

McCullough joins Azteca from CNN en Espanol, where he was Director of Sales. His extensive media background includes stints at WXTU New York Univision (National Sales Manager), Univision (National Spot Account Executive), Fox Sports New York (Director of Sales and National Sales Manager), Katz Independent Television (Account Executive/Sales Manager), Seltel (Account Executive) and Petry TV (Research Analyst).

Vila-Sanchez most recently was a Regional Sales Manager at Radio Unica Network. She also has served as Sales Manager at Heftel Broadcasting, General Sales Manager at Telemundo 51- WSCV, Account Executive at Univision 23- WLTV and Account Executive at WRHC Radio.

Varel joins Azteca from Univision Television Group, where he was National Account Executive. He also served as Account Executive at Infinity Broadcasting.

Verdery was Account Manager at NBC Telemundo before joining Azteca. He also served as Account Executive at Univision Communications, and as Director of Business Development for United Online (NetZero and Juno).

Interep announced the formation of Azteca America Spot TV Sales in early January.
