Badillo – V.P. of Programming @ ¡Sorpresa! Network.

Juniper Content Corporation’s ¡Sorpresa! Network, announced that Maria Badillo will be joining ¡Sorpresa! as Vice President of Programming.

Ms. Badillo comes to ¡Sorpresa! from the Discovery Kids Latin America Network and brings over 15 years of domestic and international programming and production experience for youth audiences. At Discovery Kids On-line, Maria built a kids-friendly digital environment in Spanish for both Latin American and US audiences. Prior to Discovery, she served in a promotions and programming capacity at the Univision Network.

Ms. Badillo will be responsible for co-production and acquisitions for the ¡Sorpresa! Network. “This appointment further demonstrates ¡Sorpresa’s! commitment to quality children’s programming,” commented Stuart B. Rekant, Juniper’s Chairman and CEO and CEO of ¡Sorpresa! “Maria’s expertise in both the linear and digital aspects of the Hispanic youth marketplace will significantly enhance ¡Sorpresa’s! programming line-up.”

Ms. Badillo also was formerly associated with X-EIPN Channel 11 in Mexico City, Palmera Films, Channel 22 in Mexico and the Mexico City based El Nuevo Reino Aventura Entertainment Department. Ms. Badillo will report to Leonard Firestone, President and COO of ¡Sorpresa! and Firestone Communications.
