Ballas-Traynor named Publisher of People en Español

Lucia Ballas-Traynor has been named publisher of People en Español, it was announced by Time Inc. Entertainment Group president Paul Caine. She begins her new position August 18.

Ballas-Traynor joins People en Español from MTV Tr3s, where she has been SVP, General Manager of the bilingual music TV network since 2005. Under her direction, she helped re-brand the network (formerly called MTV Español) and established it as the most widely-distributed TV network dedicated to superserving today’s bicultural Latino youth.

“Lucia is an industry leader in Hispanic media and marketing,” said Caine. “With her tenure and experience, she brings a tremendous understanding of building audiences and mega-brands. With People en Español in its 12th year, we’re looking to capitalize on Lucia’s in-depth knowledge as we continue to grow the PESP franchise.”
