Batanga Media and Warner Music Group launch Personalized Radio in Latin America, Brazil and Spain

Batanga Media announced an agreement with Warner Music Group (WMG) for the streaming of Warner’s music catalog in Latin America, Brazil and Spain. The agreement will provide users of Batanga Radio services with access to WMG’s repertoire, which includes material from some of today’s biggest international and domestic artists.

The new internet and mobile radio agreement will allow Batanga Media to grow its Batanga Radio service throughout Latin America and Spain by adding millions of songs to the catalog.  Batanga Radio is an ad-funded, preprogrammed streaming service that allows users to access an unlimited amount of music, and create their own “personalized” channel stations via the website Batanga.com or Batanga Radio’s mobile application.

“We are eager to introduce Batanga Radio to a new audience”, said Rafael Urbina, CEO of Batanga Media. “We are confident that our new listeners will become loyal listeners, just as they have in the U.S. and Latin America.” The launch of Batanga Radio in Brazil builds on the media company’s commitment to the creation of content that adds value to users.

Alfonso Perez-Soto, SVP, Business Development, Latin America and Spain, Warner Music, commented, “I am pleased WMG is the first major music company to partner with Batanga Media. Through this agreement we are driving incremental revenues for our extraordinary artists while creating new ways for fans to engage with their favorite music. By licensing these digital services we are ensuring that we are continually delivering the best possible results for our unique catalog.”

“Batanga Radio’s catalog of Latin repertoire has always been one of the strongest, most appealing catalogs in the Latin Region, almost tailor-made for a Latin music fan. This agreement not only expands on that, but it also brings Batanga Radio one of the greatest major music catalogs globally. It’s a win for both parties, and delivers a competitive Latin digital music service to audiences in one of the world’s fastest growing digital markets”, said Seth Schachner, Managing Director, Strat Americas, who helped negotiate the partnership.
