Pappas Telecasting Companies announced the appointment of Kenneth B. Beedle to the position of General Manager of KAZW-TV, Channel 9, in the Yakima-Pasco-Richland-Kennewick, Washington Designated Market Area, effective February 9th. KAZW-TV recently became an affiliate of Azteca America, a Spanish-language television network focused on the rapidly-growing U.S. Hispanic population. Mr. Beedle will report to Howard H. Shrier, Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Pappas Telecasting Companies TV station Group.
In making the announcement, Mr. Shrier said, “We are very happy to welcome Ken Beedle to the Pappas Telecasting management group. He has a wealth of experience that will help KAZW grow and prosper.”
Mr. Beedle commented, “I welcome the challenge of building KAZW into a force in the Yakima market. Pappas Telecasting has a record of transforming under-performing stations, and I will enjoy being an integral part of that process in Central Washington.”
KAZW-TV, licensed to Walla Walla, is available over-the-air on channel 9 and on its Yakima translator, KAZW-LP, channel 27.
