BellSouth Debuts New Hispanic Advertising Campaign.

BellSouth announced a new Spanish-language advertising campaign aimed at continuing the growth in Hispanic subscribers to the company’s popular BellSouth Answers bundles. These bundles combine local, long distance, Cingular Wireless, high-speed Internet and digital television service from DIRECTV.

“The Hispanic market in the Southeast represents a major area of growth for BellSouth, and we are dedicated to communicating with this important customer base in a culturally relevant manner,” said William Pate, chief marketing officer for BellSouth. “The computer-generated imagery and special effects of the TV spots provide high entertainment value, while reinforcing the savings available to customers who bundle their communications and entertainment services with BellSouth.”

One TV spot touts the ease with which a customer can get rewards from subscribing to BellSouth services. The spot, called “Traffic”, has a man leaping off fire escapes, dodging cars and skateboarding down a busy street in an effort to catch a dollar bill flying off in the wind. The spot goes on to explain that you don’t have to take all those risks for some extra spending money, as bundling services with BellSouth can get you up to $200 in Visa Gift Cards.

Another spot, entitled “Streets”, features various Internet users traveling down the information super-highway to fill up on the $24.95 low, monthly price of BellSouth(R) FastAccess(R) DSL. The spot opens with a boy accessing the latest baseball championship stats online and continues with others chatting online, checking the news from other countries, downloading photos and more.

The ad campaign, developed by Bromley Communications, will concentrate TV, radio, and print in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina. Other media will run across BellSouth’s nine-state service area.
