Berlanga appointed News Anchor at KTMD Telemundo in Houston.

Telemundo Media announced the appointment of Martin Berlanga as News Anchor at KTMD Telemundo in Houston, Texas, effective immediately. Berlanga will report to Rey Chavez, News Director at KTMD and will be based in Houston.
In this role, Berlanga will be responsible for anchoring the 5pm and 10pm newscasts, conducting live interviews and presenting breaking news at the Telemundo owned and operated station. He also will work closely with Chavez on rundown development, ongoing “sweeps” type stories and he will represent Telemundo at community events.
“We are glad to welcome Martin back to Houston, as a key member of our Noticiero Telemundo Houston newscasts,” said Tony Canales, President and General Manager of KTMD. “We look forward to incorporating Martin’s journalistic background and television news experience into both our 5pm and 10pm local newscasts.”
Previously, Berlanga served as Anchor and Correspondent of Noticiero Univision from 1996 to 2012. In this role, he was the main Anchor for Univision’s weekend network newscast and anchored news segments for “Tu Desayuno Alegre,” the network’s morning show. He covered the 2012 presidential elections and the 2008 Republican and Democratic National Conventions, as well as several electoral events in Pennsylvania, Colorado, Illinois, Arizona and New Mexico in 2010. Berlanga also served as Univision’s Texas Correspondent and as Producer during their September 11th coverage from New York and Washington D.C in 2001.
Prior to his post at Univision, Berlanga served as news Anchor and Writer for KXYZ Radio 13 in Houston. Additionally, he became KTMD Telemundo’s Reporter for Marcelo Marini and special programs in 1994.
