April 6, 2016
República announced the appointment of Anthony Bianco as executive vice president and general manager, a newly created position to manage the agency. Bianco brings more than 20 years’ experience in agency executive management, servicing a varied roster of blue-chip clients. In his new role at República, Bianco, who recently relocated to South Florida from New York, will blend his vast general market expertise with the agency’s deep cross-cultural know-how to sharpen its focus on activating the U.S. Multicultural Mainstream.
“As we approach República’s 10th anniversary, we’re thrilled to welcome Anthony to the family. There’s a seismic shift happening in America as the overall population becomes more and more diverse. From baby boomers, millennials to Generation Z, and all of the rich heritage in between, multiculturalism has become mainstream,” said Jorge A. Plasencia, co-founder, chairman and CEO of República. “Anthony is an impressive professional with first-class expertise who will undoubtedly inspire our team and client partners as he builds upon the entrepreneurial, family-like philosophy that have become cornerstones of our agency’s culture,” added Plasencia.
Prior to República, Bianco built a stellar career in New York. Most recently, he served as managing partner at Naked Communications, whose client roster has included Absolut, Virgin Atlantic, Mount Gay Rum, eBay, Danone, among others. Prior to Naked, Bianco served a 14-year tenure at WPP’s Berlin Cameron United, where he was partner and managing director and serviced clients such as Coca-Cola, Reebok, LVMH, Comcast, ING Direct, Condé Nast, Boost Mobile, Heineken Light, Stolichnaya Vodka, Samsung, and Vitamin Water. Before Berlin Cameron United, Bianco was at Kirshenbaum Bond Senecal + Partners, working on key accounts such as Target, Tommy Hilfiger, Citibank, Dom Perignon, and Moët. Bianco has also earned recognition as the youngest member of the North American World Cup Snowboard Team in 1989 with several corporate sponsors, including Oakley.
“It’s an extremely exciting time to be joining one of the nation’s most prominent cross-cultural agencies while marketers are taking note that there is no one-strategy-fits-all approach,” said Anthony Bianco, executive vice president and general manager of República. “República’s multicultural offering coupled with ever-expanding cultural and psychographic diversity, uniquely positions us to work with partners that understand the extraordinary benefits associated with nuance communications,” added Bianco.
