Bonnery named Executive Creative Director at SCPF.
March 25, 2011
SCPF has hired Philip Bonnery as Executive Creative Director. Based in the agency’s Miami office, Bonnery brings with him 15 years of creative experience at top agencies such as Bartle Bogle Hegarty, Modernista!, Wieden + Kennedy, and Crispin Porter & Bogusky, among others. Bonnery is co-ECD with Alberto Jaen who has been with the agency since last June.
Originally from France, Bonnery first came to the U.S. on a college baseball scholarship. He switched to a career in advertising, first working as an account executive in a small Miami agency. He soon realized, he says, that it was far more exciting to come up with the ideas. Philip then art directed at Y&R in Miami and went on to freelance around the country for Hal Riney Publicis, Cliff Freeman and BBH. After a stop at Modernista! Boston, Philip landed back in New York City winning 2 Gold Lions among other awards and was voted the 10th Best Art Director in the world by Creativity Magazine. While at Saatchi & Saatchi, his 42 Below Campaign was voted 3rd Best in world by the 2007 Gunn Report. Other awards include: One Show Pencils, Gold Andy Award, Grand Clio, Art Director Club Gold Cube, AICP/MoMA Museum Permanent Collection, National Addys Best-of-Show, among others.
Client accounts he has worked on include: Levi’s, Axe, Volkswagen, Nike, British Airways, MTV, Sony, Telephonica, CitiBank, Visa, Aeromexico, Dell, HP, Sprint, Miami Heat, Hummer (GM), Budweiser, Old Spice (P&G), Wheaties, Johnnie Walker, Starbucks, José Cuervo, Google, AT&T, Samsumg, and Coca-Cola, among many others.
“Working in an area such as Miami, where languages, customs, and cultures meet gives me daily inspiration for SCPF’s proposition as a global agency,” said Bonnery. “In this environment, the creative energy is limitless and invigorating. I look forward to contributing to the opportunities ahead,” he added. “Also, I was sold when Ignasi Puig, President, SCPF informed me that SCPF Miami follows the 6 week holiday Spanish schedule. Just kidding.”
“Phillip brings his innovative perspective of the global market as our new Executive Creative Director,” said Ignasi Puig, President, SCPF. “As an award-winning creator, Phillip’s experiences in the advertising world are unparalleled and we welcome him with enthusiasm and confidence,” he added.
