BORICUATÓN de Cinelatino will air on Sunday, June 13th, 2021

Marking its second year of celebrating the culture and contributions of “La Isla de Encanto,” Cinelatino will once again pay tribute to the Puerto Rican community with its BORICUATÓN de Cinelatino. The marathon of popular Puerto Rican films, honoring Boricua culture began last year in observance of the 2020 Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York, one of the myriad festivals and parades cancelled amid the COVID-19 crisis. A mainstay of New York City summers and celebrated annually on the second Sunday in June, the Puerto Rican Day Parade – currently still in its reimagined format and now in its 64th year – is one of the signature events promoting Latino culture in the United States. To commemorate the important tradition, the network will air a full day of back-to-back hits produced on the island and directed by Puerto Rican filmmakers on Sunday, June 13th, beginning at 7 a.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT.  

BORICUATÓN de Cinelatino will feature titles including Pepo Pa’l Senado, Aquí No ha Pasado Nada, La Cenicienta Boricua, Fuera de Tinieblas, as well as the most successful Puerto Rican film in the island’s history, Los Domirriqueños, its sequel, Los Domirriqueños 2, and “King of Reggaeton” Daddy Yankee’s vehicle Talento de Barrio. Hosted by Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2018, Kiara Liz Ortega and renowned actor and comedian Sunshine Logroño, the marathon will lead up to the exclusive television premiere of Otra boda en Castañer at 9:00 p.m. ET / 6:00 p.m. PT. Otra boda en Castañer, the hilarious follow up to box office success, Una boda en Castañer takes place four years later and promises more of the unforgettably uproarious family and small-town chaos of the original film.

Throughout the day, viewers will enjoy performances by Braulio Castillo, Jr., René Monclova, Michael Stuart, Jorge “Molusco” Pabón, Raúl Carbonell, Jorge Luis Ramos, Jimmy Navarro, Felix Monclova, Eugenio Monclova, along with appearances by the stars of WAPA América’s El Remix Jazmín Caratini, Alejandro Gil, Danilo Beauchamp and Marián Pabón.
