Bromley Communications, the nation’s leading Hispanic strategic marketing and communications agency announces the promotion of Tomas Ruiz, III as Director of Media Buying Services and Kim Chance as Director of Media Planning Services.
As Director of Media Buying Services at Bromley Communications, Ruiz’s responsibilities include managing the buying unit, negotiating network upfronts, and, in conjunction with the Director of Media Planning Services and Director of Media Research, running the media department as a whole.
Prior to joining the buying unit, Ruiz had been Group Planning Director at the agency, leading a team of media planning professionals on a variety of accounts, including Coors Brewing Company and Continental Airlines.
With a fervor that is second to none and through more than 10 years of experience, Ruiz has consistently guided his clients with ease through the complex Hispanic landscape. Through the years, Ruiz’s strategy and buying responsibilities have included work on accounts such as Tecate Beer, Avon, Circuit City, Zales, Western Union, Avon, Sprint and Owens Country Sausage, to name a few. Additionally, his work has been recognized within the industry and won the best use of radio in the AHAA & Hispanicad.com media planning competition in 2004. Furthermore, he was recognized by his agency peers and awarded an Employee Recognition award in 2003.
With tenure of more than 10 years at the Agency, he has proven himself to be a valuable asset to not only the Agency, but to his clients. He graduated from Trinity University in 1995 with a BS degree in Business Administration and Latin American Studies and a minor in Spanish.
As Director of Media Planning Services, Kim Chance possesses a passion for the Hispanic culture, with an expertise in Hispanic subgroups, acculturation levels and language segmentation.
After serving 12 years as Group Strategy Director at Bromley Communications and with more than 20-year media career under her belt, Chance’s broad range of experience encompasses both General Market and Hispanic media management assignments.
Chance has a solid track record of assisting Fortune 500 companies reach marketing and sales objectives in the Hispanic market. She has extensive knowledge of a wide variety of consumer categories in the Hispanic consumer market including banking & financial services, retail, telecommunications, healthcare, travel and packaged goods. She is among the nominees for media planning executive of 2006 for HispanicAd.com.
She has been a board member of the San Antonio Ad Federation and San Antonio Radio and Broadcast Executives, a speaker at the National Association of Hispanic Publishers and National Cable Communications conferences, and a panelist for the Newspaper Association of America’s “Gold Advertising” symposium.
Chance began her career at J. Walter Thompson/Detroit in 1982 before relocating to San Antonio. After more than 20 years in San Antonio, she now considers herself a true Texan. She graduated from Indiana University in 1982 with a BA degree in Journalism and a minor in Sociology and Spanish.
