Bromley Young Creatives win Silver at Cannes Worldwide Creative Competition.

Bromley Communications, LLC’s young creative duo captured Bromley’s first Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival win at the Young Lions competition this weekend. Jon Erick Jaimes (25) and Almendra Tijerina (27) competed in the Film category against 40 teams from around the world under extreme pressure and timelines to create a 60-second commercial about the effects of animal tourism. Their efforts garnered a Silver Lion.

The pair were sent to Cannes to compete, having won the Círculo Creativo competition in the United States that sends the best creatives to Cannes. This was Bromley’s fourth consecutive year to have young creatives compete in the Cannes International Festival. In 2009, Jaimes and Tijerina won the Círculo CreativoYoung Creatives contest among the U.S. Hispanic market which sent them to last year’s Cannes global competition. Tijerina is an art director for the General Mills account and Jaimes is a junior copywriter for the NBA and Western Union accounts.

The Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival is the world’s only truly global meeting place for professionals in the communications industry. The Young Lions Competition is open to advertising professionals up to 28 years old. The participating teams are selected through a pre-selection process in their own country, with the winners attending Cannes Lions in June and participating in the Young Lions Competition there, where they compete against teams from all over the world.

“This is an incredible testament to our talented young creatives,” stated Bromley Creative Director, Ron Landreth. “Having been short listed for four years in a row in this competition is extremely rewarding, but now our team was recognized as the world’s best.

Círculo Creativo, a non-profit organization, serves as a resource for creatives, agency producers and planners working in the Hispanic market and supports the development of the next generation of Hispanic creatives. Each year, the organization selects a dupla to participate in the Cannes Young Lions Competition.
