Butch Cassidy in Patagonia.
June 9, 2008
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid are among the most famous outlaws ever to ravage the Wild West. In the late 1800’s and early 1900’s — along with other members of their “Wild Bunch” — they planned a series of successful bank robberies that terrified townspeople, and skirted the law from Telluride, Colorado to Montpelier, Wyoming. But what’s less known about these two gunmen is that they eventually fled the U.S. by hiding out in the southernmost tip of the Western Hemisphere: Patagonia, Argentina. BUTCH CASSIDY IN PATAGONIA, an in-depth look into the secret lives of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid while they were on the run, premieres Sunday, July 13 at 8 PM ET on History en Espanol.
