Buzanello – VP Affiliate Relations @ Discovery Networks Latin America-Iberia.

Discovery Networks Latin America/Iberia announced the promotion of Vera Buzanello to vice president, affiliate sales and relations. The announcement was made by Enrique R. Martinez, executive vice president and managing director, to whom Buzanello will report.

In her new role, Buzanello will manage Discovery’s entire distribution infrastructure, including the Miami-based central operations as well as regional sales offices in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and Spain. She will also be responsible for all aspects of strategic sales planning, fulfillment of revenue objectives, contract negotiations, and client relationships, and will lead Discovery’s ongoing developments in enhanced television applications, wireless distribution and other new business opportunities.

Previously, Buzanello served as regional director, affiliate sales & relations for Discovery Networks Latin America/Iberia, where she was responsible for increasing penetration and maintaining client relationships within the territories of Brazil, Spain and Portugal, as well as building distribution on DTH platforms for all six of Discovery’s networks. During the past year alone, her region grew 21% in revenues and 15% in penetration. Prior to joining the company in April 1998, Buzanello held sales and marketing positions with Multicanal Telecomunicacoes and later with Globo’s Net Brasil.
