Calderón co-anchor of ‘Primer Impacto: Fin de Semana’.

Univision Communications Inc. announced that journalist Ilia Calderón has been named the new co-anchor of the highly-rated newsmagazine “Primer Impacto: Fin de Semana” (First Impact: Weekend Edition) at 5:00 pm ET/PT (4:00 pm Central) on the Univision Television Network.

“It’s a great honor to be joining the Univision Television Network and the Emmy Award winning ‘Primer Impacto’ news team,” said Calderón. “As the country’s leading Spanish-language newsmagazine, ‘Primer Impacto’ has the unique ability to impact so many people’s lives on a daily basis, and I look forward to bringing our viewers the stories and information that matter most to them.”

Previously, Calderón was co-host of the Telemundo morning program “Cada Dia con María Antonieta Collins” after having started as anchor of the network’s weekend national newscast at its inception in 2001.

Starting March 10th, Ilia Calderón joins co-anchor Satcha Pretto on “Primer Impacto: Fin de Semana” every Saturday and Sunday from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm ET/PT (4:00 pm to 5:00 pm Central).
