Canal Internet, Inc. announced the launch of their website canalinternet.com. The company offers television shows and other quality video content in Spanish, with high quality sound and picture, for free.
Among the content already available are renowned primetime series such as Historias de Sexo de Gente Común, Policías en Acción, as well as other shows produced by Endemol Latin America, one of the largest TV production companies in the world. Canal Internet is currently negotiating licensing agreements from other large production houses, as well as from independent producers.
“We are very excited to be the first large production company to offer its contents through Canal Internet,” stated Nicolás Grapper, Director of International Productions for Endemol Latin America. “Endemol is always looking to be innovative and is betting on the future. We believe that the Internet represents the future for audiovisual content distribution,” he added.
Besides all the content being licensed, Canal Internet is currently producing original content which will air exclusively on the site. “We are following a network television model of programming and we want to offer a wide variety of options to our viewers. Naturally, offering exclusive content is one of our priorities,” stated Andy Kleinman, founder of Canal Internet.
Canal Internet is currently offering over 20 shows with hundreds of episodes. Among them are reality shows, sitcoms, animations, dramas, programming for women, documentaries, shorts and sports shows. New television shows and other video content are being added every week, as the company kicks off its first marketing efforts, begins to sell advertising on the website and prepares to close on pending content agreements.
