Canela.TV premieres “Bocetos”

Canela.TV announced the launch of its first scripted young adult drama series, set in Mexico, Bocetos. The six-episode series will be available on Canela.TV beginning October 27th and one of the stars and associate producers is Geraldine Bazán, who also is one of the six telenovela iconic villains of Canela.TV’s original Secretos De Villanas. Bocetos is created, co-written and produced by the series’ showrunner Jorge Cervantes and directed and co-written by Rodrigo Arnaz.

Bocetos is a young adult drama series about Diego (Jason Romo), a talented but insecure illustrator who draws every night about the things that happen with his friends on a daily basis. As he sketches his passions, losses, and dreams, he reflects on how the decisions we make influence our lives. One such decision he is faced with is when Diego draws the attention of Begoña (Isidora Vives), making Fernanda (Alejandra Zaid), Diego’s best friend from childhood, jealous and a love triangle begins. And while Diego’s love life is in turmoil, he is confronted with the difficult and painful illness of someone who is near to him, and he is forced to come to terms with the fact that the only constant in life is change. Bocetos breaks the stereotype of the teen drama, delves into teenage life, in its changes, duels, loves, goals and expectations.

In addition to Bazán, the cast includes internationally renowned actors Juan Soler, Erika de La Rosa and Osvaldo de León as well as up and upcoming young actors: Jason Romo, Alejandra Zaid, Isidora Vives, Adriano Zendejas, Julia Maqueo, Carlos Mosmo, Valeria Burgos, Daniel Gama, Sergio Madrigal Javier Ponce y Ximena Lamadrid.

“Bocetos, set in present-day Mexico, is a beautifully written story that follows the ups and downs of the lives of young adults, portrayed by a talented cast that brings the story to life through incredibly powerful performances,” said Jerry Leo, Chief Content Officer at Canela Media. “We are thrilled to offer this engaging and relevant story to our audience exclusively on Canela.TV.”

“I wanted Bocetos to be a love letter to the young adult coming-of-age drama series of the 90’s. It’s a story that focuses on the singular and small moments in life that leave an indelible mark on all of us,” commented Jorge Cervantes, writer and producer of Bocetos. “The series touches on themes of loss, the ever-present angst that life changes bring about and everyday situations we have all experienced when going through these moments in life. I venture to say that Bocetos will draw upon positive feelings for anyone who watches the series.”
