Caribbean Winter League Baseball @ Fox Sports en Español.

Coverage of Caribbean Winter League baseball returns to Fox Sports en Español, and will feature games including playoffs, from both the Venezuelan and Dominican baseball leagues. The Venezuelan league, returning for its third consecutive season on the network, will be televised every Friday at 5:00 p.m. (EST) through January 2004. The Dominican baseball league, also returning to Fox Sports en Español for its fourth consecutive season, begins on Saturday, November 29 at 7:00 p.m. (EST). Both of these Winter baseball leagues are televised exclusively in the United States on Fox Sports en Español.

The Venezuelan baseball league consists of eight teams divided in two divisions. The winner of each division will compete against the other to determine which team will represent Venezuela in the 2004 Caribbean World Series in February. Teams representing the Eastern Division of the 2003 Venezuelan baseball league include the Tiburones de la Guaira, Magallanes, Leones de Caracas and Caribes de Oriente. The Western Division is represented by Cardenales de Lara, Aguilas de Zulia, Tigres de Aragua and Pastora de los Llanos.

The Dominican baseball league consists of six participating teams: Leones del Escogido, Tigres del Licey, Estrellas Orientales, Azucareros del Este, Pollos Nacionales and Aguilas Cibaeñas who won the 2003 Caribbean World Series title. The top two teams will advance to a seven-game playoff series at the conclusion of the regular season. The emerging winner will represent the Dominican Republic in the 2004 Caribbean World Series that will also feature Mexico and Puerto Rico. Fox Sports en Español will present live and exclusive coverage of the complete Caribbean World Series in the United States.
