Puerto Rican journalist and NBC/Telemundo anchor Carmen Dominicci was named International Ambassador by the Latino Commission on AIDS at their annual fundraising gala, Cielo Latino.
“If in this year as the International Ambassador of the Commission, I can tell one person how to prevent contracting HIV, or I am able to encourage one person to get tested for HIV or seek early treatment and save one life, then my work will be worthwhile”
As the International Ambassador of the Commission, Dominicci will promote education and prevention efforts on HIV/AIDS on behalf of the Commission both nationally and internationally, in particular to Hispanic communities throughout the United States.
“If in this year as the International Ambassador of the Commission, I can tell one person how to prevent contracting HIV, or I am able to encourage one person to get tested for HIV or seek early treatment and save one life, then my work will be worthwhile,” said Dominicci during her presentation at Cielo Latino, celebrated in New York on May 11th.
