Carmen’s Cupones Promotes Higher Education Among Hispanics.

Just in time for Back-to-School and Hispanic Heritage Month, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) will be reaching 2.5 million Hispanic households this September through Carmen’s Cupones y Consejos (Carmen’s Coupons, Tips and Advice).

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund is proud to be the nation’s leading organization supporting Hispanic higher education, providing the Latino community more college scholarships and educational outreach support than any other organization in the country. During its 29-year history, HSF has awarded more than 68,000 scholarships in excess of $144 million to Latinos from all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands who have attended more than 1,700 colleges and universities.

Founded in 1975 as a 501 (c)3 not-for profit organization, their mission is to double the rate of Hispanics earning college degrees in the US. In an effort to strengthen our country by advancing the college education of Hispanic Americans, the HSF has teamed up with Carmen’s to promote their message in both English and Spanish through their upcoming mailer. Carmen’s Cupones Y Consejos, part of Walters Media Group, Inc., is a certified minority business enterprise and has donated valuable ad space on all of their envelopes.

“We are proud of the efforts many Hispanic families and young adults in our communities are putting forth towards improving their future through higher education,” says Shayne Walters, Founder and President of Carmen’s Cupones. He adds, “It is really an honor for us to have the opportunity to support the HSF and Hispanics nationwide through our unique program.”

“Carmen’s provides us with an excellent vehicle to spread our message among Hispanic families and young adults throughout the US, and we are very grateful for their support,” said Sara Martinez Tucker, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. “Many Hispanics believe that a college education is beyond their reach or simply don’t know where to start. At HSF we want to help them understand how their dream can become a reality by providing them with the information they need. They can search our site (www.hsf.net) for information on the college admission process, financial aid and even the scholarship opportunities that are available. However, they must first know we are here, and that’s where we believe the Carmen’s direct mail program will be able to make a difference for us.”
